Our Lower 5 pupils recently took part in the National Careers Challenge Enterprise Day, working in teams to tackle a series of real-world business tasks set by Gymshark.
Throughout the day, pupils developed their teamwork, communication and entrepreneurial skills as they explored how brands can promote sustainability and circularity through innovative campaigns, resale opportunities and customer engagement initiatives. The challenge culminated in group presentations, where pupils showcased their ideas with confidence, creativity and professionalism.
Events such as this play an important role in preparing pupils for the rapidly changing world beyond school. They help to develop the adaptability, problem-solving abilities and self-confidence that universities and employers increasingly value. Alongside academic achievement, these wider opportunities ensure that our pupils are well prepared not only for examinations, but also for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead in higher education and the workplace.
Through your Friends of Freemen’s account, you can share details of your career journey and select your mentoring preferences. This allows current pupils to connect with former students and members of the Freemen’s community who work in industries they are interested in pursuing.
For example, a pupil considering a career in Recruitment or Human Resources can search the database to find alumni with relevant experience, gaining valuable insight, advice and guidance from professionals already established in the field.
Members can update their mentoring preferences and career information at any time through their account settings, ensuring their profile remains relevant as their circumstances, experience or interests evolve.
