Freemen’s Pupils Celebrate Outstanding Success in UKMT Mathematical Challenge

Pupils at Freemen’s have achieved exceptional results in this year’s UKMT Intermediate Mathematical Challenge, with students competing across the Challenge itself as well as the prestigious Kangaroo and Olympiad rounds.

Our sole Year 9 participant, Nimai – and a notably early entrant – achieved an impressive Silver certificate in the Grey Kangaroo competition, an excellent accomplishment at this level.

Among our Year 10 pupils, Gabriel was awarded a Silver certificate and earned the distinction of Best in Year, while Henry secured a Bronze certificate, reflecting the strength of talent within the cohort.

In the demanding two-hour Maclaurin Olympiad, two of our Year 11 pupils demonstrated remarkable perseverance and mathematical flair. Manfred achieved a Distinction certificate, and Marcus was awarded a Merit certificate — outstanding results in one of the UKMT’s most challenging papers.

Further success followed in the Intermediate Challenge and Kangaroo rounds. Year 11 pupils Derek, Boming and Martin each achieved Bronze certificates, while Zane was awarded a Silver certificate. Hanna E and Eva M both earned Gold certificates, with Eva M also achieving the Best in School result in the Pink Kangaroo competition.

These accomplishments reflect not only the pupils’ individual dedication and problem-solving ability, but also the enthusiasm and commitment to excellence within the Mathematics department.

We are immensely proud of all our students who took part and congratulate them on their superb achievements!
