On Sunday 28th June 2026, the Freemen’s community came together to celebrate a remarkable milestone: 100 years of Freemen’s in Ashtead Park.
Freemen’s Fest was a fitting tribute to a century of history, bringing together current families, alumni, staff, local residents and friends of the School for a day of celebration and community spirit. More than 1,000 visitors attended the event, making it a memorable occasion for everyone involved.
The festival offered a wide range of activities that reflected both the heritage and vibrant community of Freemen’s. Visitors explored displays from the School archives, providing a fascinating insight into the School’s rich history, while enjoying live music, silent and roller discos, line dancing and fairground games. Families also enjoyed pony rides, delicious food and drink, a football challenge and a marketplace featuring a variety of local businesses and artisan vendors.
Freemen’s Fest was more than a celebration of the School’s past; it was an opportunity to recognise the people and traditions that have shaped Freemen’s over the last century while looking forward with confidence to the future.
The School extends its sincere thanks to everyone who attended, as well as the volunteers, performers, exhibitors, stallholders and staff whose enthusiasm and dedication made the event such a resounding success. The day perfectly captured the strong sense of community that has been at the heart of Freemen’s for the past 100 years and will continue to define it for generations to come.
