It was a pleasure to welcome back our alumni to Freemen’s to speak about their experiences at university and life beyond school. Students who have gone on to study at Exeter, Durham, UCL, Imperial and Warwick returned to share honest and insightful talks about what university is really like.
They spoke about everything from adjusting to academic life and managing independent study, to making friends, joining societies and balancing workload with social life. Our alumni offered practical advice on choosing courses, settling into accommodation, budgeting, and making the most of the opportunities available. They also shared what they wish they had known before starting university, giving our students a realistic and reassuring insight into the transition from Freemen's Sixth Form to higher education.
It was an inspiring and informative session, and we are incredibly grateful to our alumni for taking the time to support and guide the next generation as they begin thinking about their own university journey 🎓
