Freemen’s is proud to congratulate alumna Julie Kapsalis on being awarded a MBE in the 2026 New Year’s Honours List.
Julie has been recognised for her outstanding services to economic development, reflecting her exceptional leadership and long-standing commitment to supporting businesses, developing skills and championing inclusive growth across the region. Her work has had a lasting impact on communities and created meaningful opportunities for future generations.
Last Tuesday, Julie had the privilege of attending Windsor Castle for her investiture, collecting her MBE from His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales. The award specifically recognises her work in economic development, including her time as Chair of Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership.
